Another week in October, another series of epic, not-to-be-missed festivals this Week in Food -- make space in your stomach and your weekend.

10/8 Sun Street Breads is hosting its first beer dinner (you read that correctly) tonight by featuring a "A Road Trip Down Highway 61" with heaps of Fulton beers. Cuisine will start with upper Midwest dishes and travel down to Louisiana. Tickets are, naturally, $61 and come with four courses and four matching brews. The dinner starts at 6 p.m., and reservations can be had by calling Sun Street Breads at 612.354.3414.

If you prefer hands-on bread action, check out the European Breads class offered by Minneapolis Community Ed tonight at Anwatin from 6 to 9 p.m. Anyone interested in sampling European breads and learning how to make them yourself -- especially the difficult-to-find Euro loaves -- will be right at home. Selections to be baked include a Nordic bread, black bread from Germany, an English version of whole wheat bread, and potato bread from Finland. All that's required is registration in advance and a $10 supply fee when you arrive.

10/12 Hit up St. Anthony Event Center for A Wine Affair: Passport to Wines and enjoy a special dinner with pairings from Italy, Chile, and Spain throughout your six courses. Executive chef Ben McCallum will even toss in a seventh wine (France) for the dessert course. The $60 price tag includes the dinner, plenty of samples, and the chance to buy the featured wines from Lowry Hill Liquor. Live music from Cooper Street Brass Quintet and a drawing for a stay at the Minneapolis Marriott round out the experience, which runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.

10/13 They Heavy Table hosts the sixth installment of its North Coast Nosh sip-and-sample series with more than 30 purveyors of cheese, beer, coffee, and baked goods from Minnesota and Wisconsin making appearances. It's also a great excuse to check out the American Swedish Institute's new Nelson Cultural Center, which is where you'll find the Nosh from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Who can you expect to find there? Wild Run Salmon, Patisserie 46, Lift Bridge Brewery, and Caves of Faribault to name a few. Tickets are $26.90 and can be snagged on the Heavy Table website.

Consider pregaming the North Coast Nosh by attending Caramelpalooza Caramel Festival at St. Croix Chocolate Company in Marine on St. Croix Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. This fun fall festival celebrates all things caramel, and attendees will enjoy free caramel and fudge sauce tastings, homemade caramel corn with bacon, caramel apples, sea salt caramels, and loads of free entertainment (ragtime music by Dan Wascoe, acrobatics and humor with Fringe Festival alum David Harris, and an appearance by freakin' CaramELVIS!). Tots will enjoy the petting zoo and pumpkin carving demo. If you bring a cookbook you can join the cookbook swap too (bring one, get one).
