You haven't lived until you've found yourself in the middle of the action at a North Star Bartenders Guild party. The best craft cocktail shakers in the Twin Cities are all done up in their finery and making drinks not just to impress you, their honored guest, but to show off a bit and impress their compatriots. The bow ties come undone, those biceps start flexing, and the drink cups clank together. The cocktails are divine, but the entertainment is often even better.

The next opportunity to see these bartending rapscallions cut loose is this Saturday, January 25 at the Northstar Bartenders Guild Winter Gala, which will also benefit a worthy cause.

Not only will the party be stacked with mixologists like Robb Jones of Saffron, Adam Gorski and Nikola Govich of Eat Street Social, and the acclaimed Johnny Michaels formerly of La Belle Vie, there will also be plenty of entertainment. The bartenders will be creating and sharing their recipes for eight craft cocktails. NSBG's partner Mariesa Ryan of Scenergy Events tells us that Jim Beam Global will be providing all the product from their portfolio. Sounds like a lot of great, brown boozes for sampling.

Guests will also be treated to a burlesque performance, fortune tellers, drinking carnival games, and a photo booth created by artist Jordan Hamilton. Dr. Nemesis will be on hand for your sonic enjoyment.

The guild continues with their mission to be the drink makers who make the world a better place. A portion of the evening's proceeds will be donated to Hold Your Horses, an organization of professional therapists and horse trainers who use equine assisted therapy to work with children with disabilities.

The party kicks off at 9 p.m. inside Public Functionary and won't stop until 1 a.m.

Admission is just $10 (or $5 for guild members). Tickets can be purchased in advance here or at the door. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
