Northstar Bartenders Guild book release party: You're invited Nov. 10
Here's a party guaranteed to have a dearth of Zimas available. Craft cocktail wizard Johnny Michaels is releasing his first book. Available from Borealis, the book will retail for $20. The Northstar Bartenders Guild is a nonprofilt collection of the area's premier bartenders. Within the book's pages they illustrate how to create cocktails as well as some of the specialty ingredients they use.
The book's release party is open to the public, and Michaels and other members of the guild will be on hand.
Here are details:
Mixing drinks will be Adam Harness of Cafe Maude, Gina Kent of Bradstreet Craftshouse, Jesse Held, Chad Larson of Barrio, and Rob Jones of Meritage. Pip Hanson of Marvel Bar will conduct a demonstration on how to chip ice. Nick Kosevich of Bittercube Bitters will discuss the art of creating bitters. Dean Phillips will bring in memorabilia from Phillips Distilling Company.
The entry price of $25 ($20 for Historical Society members) will buy you three half-sized cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, with the opportunity to buy vouchers for more cocktails.
