New Beers, a New Brewery, and More to Look Forward to This Weekend

Another weekend, another Minnesota weather shift, another local brewery.

Eastlake Craft brewery opened on Thursday morning inside the Midtown Global Market, serving four beers on tap alongside soda and kombucha at this taproom-only brewery. Weekend hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

In other Minnesota beer news, Bent Brewstillery of Roseville is hosting a day-long release party for its annual Maroon & Bold beer, running from noon 'til 10 p.m. on Saturday. There will be live music, free samples, and a prize wagon from 3 to 8 p.m. The beer was previously poured by Pour Decisions, which merged with Bent at the start of 2014. Food truck Fritter & Philly will be outside.

Sunday evening, Insight Brewing will host The Relief Sessions: Songs for the 30 Days Foundation, with live music from 4 to 9 p.m. from Tim Mahoney, Carl Torgerson, and others. There is no cover, but donations toward the foundation are welcome.

Fair State, in Northeast, has started a weekly feature called "New Beer Thursday," releasing new recipes or variations every week, such as double dry-hopped IPA, cask, and infusion beers.

It's been a big week at Fulton, which released Ursa black IPA in the taproom and will soon be selling bottles of barrel-aged Libertine and also Worthy Adversary. The brewery is hosting a canned food drive this month.

In more general beer news, tickets are on sale for the Winter Beer Dabbler, which takes place on Saturday, January 24. They've reduced capacity from last year, so buy tickets in advance. And Day Block Brewing, on Washington Avenue, has a special on growlers with purchase of a $100 gift card.

In addition to food at Bent this weekend, Potter's Pasties (Friday) and AZ Canteen (Saturday) will visit Harriet Brewing in Minneapolis; and Tollefson's (Friday), Motley Crews (Saturday), and Vin's (Sunday) will be at 612Brew. Summit will tap a cask of Working Class Hero on Friday while Butcher Salt serves food, and Fritter & Philly will visit the brewery on Saturday.
