MSPMag recently announced its new Restaurant Rater, an online feature which aggregates and averages reviews of local restaurants. It's like Rotten Tomatoes for the Twin Cities foodie set. The mag collects reviews of places and assigns them scores between 1-100. Then they average them out for an overall score. You can view all the reviews side-by-side in brief or click to see any individually. It's actually pretty awesome. (Why didn't we think of that?)
For example, 112 Eatery has the best overall rating so far, with 93.1. This rating encompasses 10 reviews, with a range from 70 (from Twin Cities Eats) to 98 (from former CP food writer Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl). Each restaurant's page also offers links to articles that mention it briefly. The rater's in its beta stage, so the listings aren't yet comprehensive. There's enough heavy hitters to get you started comparing notes though.
Also, congrats to the mag for snagging Best City/Regional Magazine website in the country!
