Here's what to expect, and our verdict:
Venue: Cathedral Hill with its brownstones, Victorians, and other vintage details, is endlessly charming; it feels as if the view has changed very little in the last century. Moscow on the Hill's atmosphere is joyous, with authentic Russian food and vodka galore, lights covered in flowery fringed shawls, and boisterous Russian music flowing through. Hanging out on the patio in summer, or looking out the window at the twinkling lights of Selby Avenue when nights get crisp, we always feel at home.
Verdict: We recommend trying the homemade vodkas--garlic and dill, horseradish, cherry, to name a few. With 2-for-1 shots, you can forget about your cares. We also recommend the Marusya Gold--cherry vodka and champagne bring sweet bubbles to your nose and a flush to your cheeks. Moscow on the Hill is also generous with its food specials: chicken blini (a Russian crepe), pirozhki (meat filled dumplings), liver pate, and many more inviting options round out the $3 menu. Also nice is the pirozhki and borscht combo for $7.
Na zdorovyeh (to your health)!
