More ramen coming to Minneapolis: Kung Fu Noodles

Haiku Bistro is ready to take the plunge from sushi into the ramen bowl.

Why has it taken our town so long to grasp the idea that people are crazy nuts about noodles? That we are ready for the way Japanese people really eat i.e.: not always sushi? (Here's looking at Tanpopo and Zen Box for jumping on ramen early and often. We salute you.)

Still, we've been waiting a really long time for a ramen-only shop and the frenzy surrounding soon-to-open Ramen Kazama seems to be catching on. The owners of Haiku Japanese Bistro, who currently operate three sushi and hibachi establishments, are getting into the ramen game.

According to the Mpls./St. Paul Business Journal, Kung Fu Noodles will nudge an Asian grocery out of the way to make room for a 120-seat restaurant on Eat Street.

No word yet on when the restaurant will open.
