Minnesota vs. Wisconsin: who brews the best beer?
A tasting competition between MN and WI beers.
Border Battle Beer Fest offers you a chance to wrap up your summer with some good old interstate rivalry. Twenty-six breweries from Minnesota and Wisconsin will compete head-to-head for the prize of state-wide beer glory. You're the judge, so taste and decide: will the Land of 10,000 Lakes or America's Dairyland come out on top? The second-annual festival will be held at the Somerset Amphitheater on the Apple River in Wisconsin. The battle of the breweries is set for September 7, rain or shine. For those of you who aren't feeling up to the drive home, on-site camping is available that weekend, too.
It's not even June, so details are limited, but in addition to samples of the finest craft beer of the Midwest, food will be on hand at the event, as well as a beer bus tour adventure, celebrity judges, and the old festival staple -- a music lineup.
Prices range from $45 VIP to special discount $10 designated driver tickets. The general admission tickets, including all beer samples and a souvenir tasting cup, run for $25. You can buy your event ticket at the door on September 7 or online in advance at borderbattlebeerfest.com.
