Minnesota Craft Beer Week is May 13-21
The second annual Minnesota Craft Beer Week will take place May 13-21 with all sorts of brew-related festivities.
More than 40 events are on this year's Craft Beer Week calendar, taking place all over the metro. Participants pay $5 for a Craft Beer Week passport, which offers access to specials and samples at all of the participating 24 bars and restaurants, seven craft beer-focused liquor stores, and various local craft breweries.
Here's what's in store:
For example, Fulton will be pairing its specialty beers (Apricot Cast Conditioned IPA and Citra Hops with Orange Peel IPA!) with cheeses at Stanley's NE, there's a Surly Beer Dinner at the Hanger Room, a Bicycle Trivia Pub Crawl, and a Schell's Tent party. (Many events are free with a passport, though some obviously cost extra.)There's also a home-brew competition--today's the last day to register!--with a Best of Show reward of the opportunity to brew with Town Hall's Mike Hoops.
MN Craft Beer Week Coordinator Teshon Dyer says one of the events she's most looking forward to is Muddy Pig's beer "Brinner" (breakfast for dinner) with Tallgrass Brewing that's only $10.
Passport holders receive stamps for participating in events and will have their names entered in a drawing for a three-day trip for two to Boston to tour the Boston Beer Company, plus the opportunity to brew (with 10 of your friends) with the brewers from Surly and Brau Brothers, and a private tour of the Summit brewery.
