Masu Sushi & Robata makes Travel & Leisure's best ramen list

The Twin Cities have gotten yet another national hat tip. This time, Travel & Leisure magazine has recognized Masu Sushi & Robata for serving up one of the best bowls of ramen in the country. The magazine puts Masu at number eight on its list of 15 top noodle bowls from around the United States. 

Back in December of 2012, Travel & Leisure listed Masu as one of the best sushi restaurants in the country and according to their latest post, "Though Masu may already be one of the best sushi restaurants in the U.S., its noodles demand equal billing. Consider the Tonkatsu Curry Ramen: for the broth alone, kombu, shiitake, chicken wings, roasted pork necks, roasted pig feet, slab bacon, vegetables, mirin, and soy sauce simmer it up for at least nine hours."

Masu first opened its doors in Northeast Minneapolis in the Spring of 2011 and has since been treating diners to critically acclaimed, top shelf sushi, grilled robata, and succulent bowls of ramen. The restaurant has also expanded to include a second location at the Mall of America.

Until recently, the kitchen at Masu was helmed by La Belle Vie alum T.J. Rawitzer, but is now under the control of chef William Selin.

Other ramen shops on the list include Portland's Biwa, Chicago's Oiistar, and Brooklyn's Chuko Ramen.
