Lyn-Lake theater to become new brewery and taproom
Site of a new Lyn-Lake microbrewery
After a short stint as the home of vintage furniture store Theater Antiques, the old Lyndale Theater building near Lake Street has once again entered a long period of vacancy. But news recently broke that a trio of developers has made a bid for the building, and their vision for the historic site involves something much more fun than sofas and settees: Beer. They'll offer organic and gluten-free varieties, mainly, and a nice place to drink it in, too.
Nestled among music venues, dives, and restaurants, it's a desirable location for a brewery or bar. In fact, a few years ago the old Uptown Bar had planned to re-locate to this same spot, but the deal fell through. The new brewery will be in good bar-crawl company with Herkimer and Moto-i both on the same block.
