We've been proponents of Las Teresitas since it opened about two years ago. The south Minneapolis cantina was our pick for Best Mexican Restaurant in 2013 and our Best Taco winner in 2012. Now it seems Travel & Leisure magazine has not only stumbled across the south-side taqueria, but they've also named it one of the best Mexican restaurants in the United States .
Las Teresitas was founded by Gaspar Perez, the owner of erstwhile Twin Cities Mexican haven Taco Morelos. Perez named Las Teresitas after his mother and daughter, both named Teresa. Since its opening, it's become a South Minneapolis hot spot, praised for the tasty, extremely affordable Mexican fare.
