Lakeville will be getting its first microbrewery this summer. Sometime before the city's Pan-O-Prog festival in July, Angry Inch Brewing will open in the former Ace Hardware building on Holyoke Avenue.

Angry Inch will have nine beers on tap, with six flagships including a honey saison, made with orange blossom honey, and also a porter, IPA, pale ale, Irish red, and milk stout.

The two founders, longtime friends Jon Erickson and Josh Hebzynski, are both homebrewers. The pair will share brewing duties at the new space, focusing their production on draft beers for local accounts and taproom consumption. There will be no canning or bottling in the brewery's early stages.

The new brewery will be located next to Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill, the metro food truck company opening its first brick and mortar spot, and the building provides Angry Inch with an open floor plan and an outside patio. The taproom design is still being drawn up, but "we want it to be an open and welcoming place for everyone," says Erickson.

Badger Hill recently moved to Shakopee, also on the metro's southern edge, as the brew boom continues to provide new beer options across the state.
