It's the hip, new noodle spot on Lagoon brought to you by the good people of Kindee Thai in Mill City. But is it worth tangling with the traffic of Calhoun Square to partake of their happy hour?

Venue: Kinsen's design is mod, with clean colors that match its Asian roots and noodle focus. It's got a long and shiny bar that begs you to belly up and enjoy a choice of several specialty cocktails, impressive wines, and a range of brews from Summit to Sapporo. While it's still getting its footing, the place has a long list of appetizers and some tasty entrees in a more adult setting than many of the options along that block.

Verdict: We're not sure how Kinsen's doing it, but in addition to happy hour, there seems to be a different good deal every night. With delicious $3 hh appetizers like the curry triangles, gyoza, and tempura green beans and $1 discounted drinks, you could be reasonably satisfied. But if you combine that with one of their nightly specials, you can really make it worth your while. For example, Wednesday means all-day happy hour plus ladies drink free rails and taps from 10 to close, and Sunday equals half-priced egg or spice dinners with $3 screwdrivers and bloody Mary's. Do the math right and you'll end up sated for a song (and they have a huge collection of music videos, as well).
