Southwest neighbors mourned Rustica's move from 46th and Bryant to Calhoun Village, but here's some news that will make the loss more bearable: Java Jack's has transitioned to Jack's. Minneapolis St. Paul magazine stopped by the newly re-opened space (not to be confused with Jax in Northeast), which is now a full-service cafe offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus wine and beer--as well as coffee, of course.

Jack's chef is Stephanie Hedrick (formerly of the Independent, Pi, and Schiek's!) and she's serving a menu of family friendly comfort foods that look spot-on for their neighborhood: oven roasted chicken, cumin spiced pork loin, burgers, pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, chili, cheese curds, and more.
