It's the best eating week of the year! Thanksgiving is upon us, and we've got you covered with last-minute classes, options for dining out, and escape plans for when relatives descend this Week in Food.

11/19 It's the ideal trifecta: sample food and wine from some of the best local restaurants, rub shoulders with Vikings players, and help fight childhood hunger all at the same event. Taste of the Vikings is a strolling food and wine event at the Mall of America that benefits the team's Children's Fund Summer Lunch Program via Second Harvest Heartland. 11/20 Let's be honest: If you don't have a game plan for your Thanksgiving dinner by now, you're in the hurtbox. Put a stop to this code-red situation by signing up for Thanksgiving Traditions with a Twist at Kitchen Window Tuesday night. Chef Royal Dahlstrom will spruce up traditional family recipes that will help you impress your guests and their tastebuds. What's on the menu? A goat cheese, bacon, and scallions cheese ball; roasted fingerling potatoes with cold smoked salmon and chives; stuffing with chorizo, cranberries, and goat cheese; morel mushroom and green bean casserole with fried leeks; twice-baked baby pumpkins with aged Swiss and sweet onions; citrus-roasted turkey with sea salt and roasted turkey gravy; and finally, pecan pumpkin pie with hard sauce. 11/22 If you prefer to leave the cooking and dirty dishes to someone else on Thanksgiving, then the Nicollet Island Inn has your back. Their four-course Thanksgiving dinner changes each year, and this time you can expect butternut squash bisque, a choice of beet or harvest salad, and then three entree options: roasted turkey, prime rib, or stuffed trout (with all the fixings, of course). Another option: The Afton House Inn will make your Thanksgiving dinner to go! Get turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green bean almondine, sweet potatoes, cranberries, dinner rolls, and a choice of pie (pumpkin, pecan, or Dutch apple) made by the deft chefs at Afton House! You can pick it up the day before Thanksgiving and take all the credit when it's on your table. Packages can feed 4 to 5, 6 to 8, and 10 to 12 and range in price from $65 to $115. 11/25 What better way to wrap up your long holiday weekend than some Gastro Non Grata at the Triple Rock? Sunday night GNG drops a Belt Punch Extravaganza to kick you out of your Thanksgiving coma. Steven Brown of Tilia and Peter Campbell of Red Wagon Pizza Company will be cooking, and Lanny Hoff from Artisanal Imports will have three of his favorite brews to share.
