Mixing up drinks at last year's Iron Fork

This Thursday, as the chefs busy themselves in heated Iron Fork competition, how will you keep yourself sated and slaked? A lineup of local restaurants and a number of well placed bars will be at the ready with samples and sips.

The competition itself pits six of the top local chefs against one another in a culinary death match friendly, fast-paced contest to see who can create the finest dish while incorporating a mystery ingredient. Here's this year's roster of culinary talent:

And as these heavy-hitters duke it out in the kitchen, guests will be lavishly regaled with samples from a bevy of local restaurants:

Kitchen & Bakery (VIP) • Taqueria Los Ocampo (VIP) • B.T. McElrath (VIP)

In addition to the culinary throw down, six local bartenders will go head to head in the Absolute Mixology competition. Afterward, attendees can head to the Library Bar at Marin for the official Iron Fork after party, complete with appetizer specials and cocktail deals.

Presale tickets and VIP passes to this year's event are sold out, and there will be no tickets available at the door. but you might be able to snag some tickets at the door. Availability is not guaranteed, but if you're dying to be a part of the action, head to the ticket booth at 7 p.m. on Thursday with your $40 and check with an Iron Fork representative.
