Iron Fork 2013 presale begins today
It's that time of year again: The City Pages Iron Fork competition approaches, and chefs are sharpening their knives with a competitive glint in their eyes. This means it's time for you, our dear Hot Dish fans, to get in early for some sweet ticket deals.
The competition gets underway at the 2012 Iron Fork
On Thursday, November 7, join us for an evening at International Market Square, where celebrated local chefs will go head to head in a competition to create the most appetizing and healthful dish including a secret ingredient. This year's competitors include last year's champion Landon Schoenefeld of Haute Dish , Daniel de Prado of Best Steak House-winner Burch Steak , the always enigmatic Jack Riebel of Butcher and the Boar , Ian Gray of Gray House , Stephanie Kochlin of Pig and Fiddle , and Pat Weber of the Art Institutes .
In addition to watching some of the best chefs in the Twin Cities throw down over a basket of secret ingredients from Lunds and Byerly's, guests will enjoy free samples of tasty nibbles from area restaurants such as Pizza Luce, Spyhouse Coffee, Glam Doll Donuts, Los Ocampo, French Hen Cafe, and many others. There will also be an Absolut Vodka bartender challenge and a cash bar. Representatives from food and beverage companies will be on hand, and last year NordicWare had a contest to win some of their baking implements.
VIP ticket holders will be treated to a special early entry at 6 p.m. (general admission entry begins at 7 p.m.) and gain first access to all the food samples and the bar. Exclusive desserts will be available to these very important people on the second floor, where there will also be passed hors d'oeuvres.
