It's a season chock full of beertivities, starting Friday afternoon with the opening of Insight Brewing in Southeast Como. The new brewery has a large taproom and will be pouring five beers, including cask porter and bitter varieties, so get there early to try them out. O'Cheez (Friday) and El Taco Riendo (Saturday) will be there to serve food.
There's also a new beer from Bauhaus Brew Labs, Jingle Fever Baltic porter, and the brewery will be offering a tasting at The Four Firkins in St. Louis Park on Friday evening.
Tickets are now on sale for the Harriet Brewing 4th Anniversary Extravaganza on February 7 at Cedar Cultural Center. There will be live music and special beers.
On Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m., Brooklyn Brewery will be offering guided tastings at Liquor Boys in St. Louis Park. Lift Bridge will be at Total Wine Woodbury from 7 to 8 p.m.
Football fans can hit the Herkimer early on Sunday for a beer breakfast, and catch a bus ride to TCF Stadium for the game.
Then, moving onto the post-holiday week, it's never too early to start thinking beer gifts. On Black Friday Lift Bridge will be selling ½ price flights and marking down clearance merchandise. Urban Growler will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Black Friday. Across the river, in Minneapolis, Bauhaus will host the Made By Hands Holiday Sale on Sunday, November 30, from noon to 7 p.m., vending goods from 30 local artists and serving up live music, food trucks, and beer.
In new beers, Summit's limited edition Union Series issued 3X Mild Ale, using a new American malt as well as traditional UK ingredients in this winter weather beer. Indeed's winter brew, Stir Crazy, is also back on shelves.
