IHOP offers free short stack for National Pancake Day
This Tuesday, March 1, is a great day in America: National Pancake Day. Another goofy food holiday? Sure, we'll give you that, but you can also have free cakes and donate to a great cause.
Here are the details:
On Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., stop in a participating IHOP Restaurant and receive one free short stack. In exchange for free cakes, IHOP requests donations to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities.
The Hot Dish spoke with a representative from IHOP about the sixth year of this event. We were told that last year more than 4 million cakes were given away--over 10 million to date. To give perspective, she said on a typical weekend IHOP sells about 7 million cakes. In the first five years of this fundraiser, IHOP collected $5.35 million for charity, last year alone over $2 million. They hope to reach $2.3 million this year.
