'I Hate My Kitchen' TV series has Twin Cities casting call
Does your kitchen have '80s cabinets, bad wallpaper, and stick-on linoleum floors? You may be in luck: DIY Network is in town casting for a new series called I Hate My Kitchen, in which they take fug kitchens and create fabulousness.
We talked to a spokesperson from the DIY Network--who has been amazed
at just how many really bad kitchens are out there--about how to apply.
The show is looking for individuals or couples completely debilitated by their kitchens, who will also be good at telling their story: i.e., who are outgoing, comfortable in front of the camera, and open-minded about the project. Selected homeowners will receive $4,000 toward the project, the services of a professional designer, and the possibility of free stuff from companies seeking endorsements.
- Must live within 25 miles of downtown Minneapolis.
- Able to contribute to the remodel: an estimated $10,000 or more, depending on the project.
- You MUST have a flexible schedule and be able to appear on camera for at least 5 half day shoots with additional partial days as needed.
