Hola Arepa is having a birthday party and you're invited

Hola Arepa is turning two, and you're invited to the party.

Hola Arepa is turning two, and you're invited to the party.

Everybody's favorite former food truck turned restaurant + brunch powerhouse + cocktail bar is turning two, and there's a big celebration planned for Sunday, May, 15.

Psst, you're invited.

The scoop:

Music: Malamanya Afro-Cuban band and the Wants vs. Needs DJ's.

Cocktails: Served from some of the best bartenders in town out of a vintage cocktail truck, plus a Surly beer tent serving Fiery Hell lager with puya chiles and Xtra Citra.

Food: Grilled corn, arepas, and other street foods like vigoron (cabbage salad, boiled yuca, and chicharrones) and ceviche tostadas.

Also: Dorilocos, sort of a walking taco but crazier. It can include the likes of grated carrots, jicama, cucumber, pickled pork rinds, peanuts, jellied candies, lime juice, chili powder, and swirls of several kinds of fruity syrup and hot sauce. Go to the party to see how Hola does it.

The festivities are free (you gotta pay for what you eat and drink, of course) and the restaurant will be open all day. The shindig takes place in the Hola Arepa parking lot.
