Passing licensing and inspection is one of the most arduous parts of opening a restaurant. Ideally, you get those details out of the way before you throw open your doors.
But when Heirloom's building changed ownership, it was revealed to the new landlords that certain structural and functional improvements must be made. Which means this progressive cooking joint will have to take a break during the renovation.
Heirloom will close on June 26, and will most likely be closed for most of the month of July. The restaurant stressed that they are not closing for good, and plan to move as quickly as possible to complete the renovations and get the doors back open.
So don't fret: You'll have your meat pies and roast chicken again soon enough.
