Harriet Brewing announces 3rd Anniversary Extravaganza
The folks at Harriet Brewing aren't the only ones who will be marking a milestone when they host their 3rd Anniversary Extravaganza on Friday, January 31 at the Cedar Cultural Center. The Cedar is turning 25 and Harriet Brewing viewed this as a perfect tie-in with their special event: an evening of bluegrass and beer, something for both beer enthusiasts and music hounds.

Harriet will provide the suds, including an exclusive beer that marks both the Cedar's silver anniversary and the return of Harriet's Elevator Doppelbock.
"We will have as many beers on tap as the Cedar can accommodate," says Jesse Brodd of Harriet, who will commandeer the venue's taps for the evening. "We should have a couple of one-offs and special beer tappings, [and] possibly 2-3 exclusive to this event."
Those specifics, along with the secret 25th anniversary beer, remain secret at present -- though Brodd hinted at the inclusion of cedar and juniper berries in some fashion. A list of beers available is listed below, with the first tapping of the Elevator and Cedar beers starting at 6 p.m.
As for music, four bands will play during the evening. Veterans of the 1st Anniversary party, i like you., will start the night, followed by sets from The Pistol Whippin' Party Penguins, Sans Souci Quartet, and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades.
"I wanted to reward bands that have done well in the taproom," Brodd explains.
Of course, thirsty patrons need not wait until door time at the Cedar, as they can visit the Harriet taproom first and catch the LRT to the West Bank. Tickets are now on sale at both the Cedar and the Harriet taproom. The event is 21 and up.
