Well, here it is. Almost September and you still haven't been on one lousy picnic. Good planning there, guy. One of the most romantic things in the world requires nothing more than throwing some sandwiches and a box of wine in a basket and, well, wow.
You blew it.
Well, lucky for you, we are here in service of your relationship. There are still a few more beautiful evenings of summer to partake in this most time-honored opportunity for canoodling. And since basket-stuffing is beyond you, Dan Kelley's Pub and the Birchwood Cafe have you covered.
Simply preorder a picnic online between now and Sunday, August 31, by 8 p.m. and your sunflower seed pate sandwiches, your smoked turkey with heirloom tomatoes, your Fischer Farms ham and Irish cheese platter, your house made chocolate chip cookies (picnic options vary — see site for details) will be ready for pickup on Monday, August 24 to enjoy at the North Loop Night Market (but hey, we're not here to tell you what to do. Take it and have it somewhere special and private if you prefer). They're $30 and feed two people.
And, in case you haven't heard about the North Loop Night Market, know that it is just the thing to soothe your jangled early-week nerves. On Monday evenings in August at Target Field, take in some live music, free yoga, and old and new films on the Jumbotron — just a few of the activities available from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
But we prefer blanket canoodling, no work required.
Hurry! Mondays in August are down to just one. So that's it fella — one and done. Don't blow it.
