Goodbye, Thai: Chiang Mai Thai is closing after 17 years in business

Like its neighbor Famous Dave's, Chiang Mai Thai has been a Calhoun Square mainstay for as long as we can remember. But after December 22, they'll be closing their doors. Owner Charles Lodge has stated that he's made the decision not to renew the lease because of the 24/7 nature of the job. He's ready for a break.

Chiang Mai was the first Thai restaurant in Uptown and was later joined by Tum Rup Thai also on Lake Street, Amazing Thailand on Hennepin, and Roat Osha also on Hennepin.
