It's not beginning to look a lot like Christmas outside, so why not check out this psychedelic movie set of a Christmas that's about as spot-on perfected as Norman Rockwell dioramas trapped in christmas bulbs hanging off an artificial tree spritzed with pine scent?
Hey, it's a fantasy. But so what? It's good, squeaky clean fun.
The 10th annual Christkindlsmarkt (say it ten times in a row and win a trip to the North Pole!) event is modeled after the German open-air Christmas markets held during Advent.
And since it's German, you know there will be beer. A beer garden, in fact. And now that this all-important fact has been established, here's what else they're promising at this 3-day event:
-Traditional German and holiday foods
-Modern, vintage, and traditional German artisan gifts at the marketplace of local vendors
-Choirs and carolers
-Santa sightings everywhere!
-Horse drawn buggies, trolleys, puppet shows, music, storytelling, and other kid's activities
-Life-sized nutcrackers (Are we the only ones who find this a little spooky?)
-Children's lighted lantern parades
-Red and white-striped tents, Christmas figures, live evergreen garlands, wreaths, and trees, plus decorative lighting
