Gather celebrates the British beginning tonight with free appetizers
Every month Gather, the D'Amico-run restaurant at the Walker, brings in an area celebrity chef. This month it celebrates its own chef, Josh Brown. As it should: Gather has been garnering attention as one of the best new restaurants of 2011.
A fish and chips will feature cod dipped in a beer batter that includes just a bit of rice flour. After much experimenting, Brown discovered that this helped the breading remain extra crispy. The fish is served alongside chips with pub sauce and malt vinegar.
