Garden of Eagan's free plant giveaway: Round two
Gardens of Eagan and Haberman are teaming up to giveaway 2,000 free pepper plants
Last week the folks at Gardens of Eagan teamed up with downtown marketing firm Haberman to giveaway 1,000 free tomato plants in an effort to encourage more people to start their own home gardens. This week they're back at it again, but this time they're offering up 2,000 free pepper plants to any potential new downtown green-thumbs.
Free tomato plant day in Minneapolis
They'll again setup shop on the corner of 1st Avenue North and 5th Street (outside the Kickernick Building across the street from The Loon) starting at 11 a.m. today. Make sure you get down there early because last week the tomato plants went fast!
According to their newest release, "We declared last Monday as "Free Tomato Day," and we gave away 1,000 organic, heirloom tomato plants. We had so much fun that we are doing it again except this time we are spicing things up and it's going to be double the fun. We are giving away over 2,000 organic pepper plants in two hours. We love good food and gardening and we want to encourage you to grow your own this summer. Gardens of Eagan and Haberman have partnered to encourage everyone to cultivate their own garden, whether it's one pot or a whole backyard, and enjoy a homegrown bounty."
