From the archives: Hamm's ad
Just when you're in the mood for a little nostalgia, up pops an old Hamm's ad to save the day [thanks to Serious Eats]. Love the "convincing" tone, the "mmmm" and the weird, backward refrain: "Hamm's the beer refreshing." It really does kind of make you want to go camping and drink beer though.
Jingle lyrics so you can sing along (first and last verses only) after the jump.
From the Land of Sky Blue Waters, From the land of pines' lofty balsams, Comes the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing.
Brewed where nature works her wonders, Aged for many moons, gently mellowed, Hamm's the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing.
From across the rippling water, Through the whisp'ring pines and birches, Comes the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing.
Comes a call to cool enchantment, Comes a call to cool refreshment, Hamm's the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing.
Hints of lakes and sunset breezes, Dance and sparkle in each glassful, Hamm's the beer refreshing, Hamm's the beer refreshing.
Even though Hamm's no longer makes its home in St. Paul (Miller owns it now and brews it in Milwaukee), you can still get here and there around town. (It's not on the list, but I've totally seen people drinking it at the Turf too.)
The old brewery still stands. In fact, local urban adventurers rate it "the coolest abandoned site ... ever explored, hands down." Passion lives on too, through "Hamm's Club," operated out of Spring Lake Park.
