It's an oasis of fresh, nutritious foods inspired by a combination of soul food favorites, Caribbean and South American inspiration, and good old-fashioned home cooking with a culinary school flourish. Chef Lachelle Cunningham and food justice nonprofit Appetite for Change have turned a long shuttered cafe space into the sort of community hub with good, simple, affordable, highly flavored food that every neighborhood needs and deserves.

But West Broadway was without such a place for many years, so enthusiasm around Breaking Bread is high. Haven't had a chance to check it out yet? Here's a perfect opportunity: Friday, July 24 is the kickoff to the 10th Annual Northside Arts Crawl (FLOW) highlighting north Minneapolis's arts scene.

Cunningham will serve a four-course family-style dinner at Breaking Bread in conjunction with Dinner on the Farm and the West Broadway Farmer's Market starting at 7 p.m.

The cost is $50 per person for the dinner and a signature cocktail. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Reservations are required, purchase tickets here.
