It's time to stand in the streets and soak the summer sun's radiant heat from the black asphalt beneath your feet. It's time to assault your ears with killers tunes, bouncing off nearby buildings and vibrating through your chest. It's time to grab some food truck eats, wander a Minneapolis street, enjoy the scenery afforded to you by the Twin Cities' colorful populace and embrace this elusive season. There's no better way to achieve all of the above than by attending our approaching 10 Thousand Sounds festival. Best of all, there are still tickets available.
City Pages' inaugural 10 Thousand Sounds Festival lineup is here!
The musical lineup includes The Walkmen, Free Energy, Greg Grease, Strange Names, Prissy Clerks & hosted by The Chalice.
Food vendors include a slew of food trucks including makers of the Best Burrito Vellee Deli
, Potter's Pasties
with their delicious hand pies and Neato's Burgers
, home of a great diner burger and addictive duck fat fried French fries with garlicky aioli. There will also be
eats from Cafe Racer
. For VIP ticket holders Pizza Luce
catering will be available (as are private restrooms - which anyone who has executed chair pose in a port-a-potty knows is worth the upgrade.)
The event will go on rain or shine on Saturday, June 22 from 4 - 10 p.m. at the corner of 8th Street and Hennepin Avenue. General Admission tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. VIP tickets are $45 and can only be purchased before the day of the event. Purchase tickets here
