Fine spirits ready for the drinking
Last year's event was a riot of the best bartenders and fine beverage quaffing of the highest order. This year should be no different, and the serious sipper will want to join in all the boozy shenanigans at the 2nd Annual Minnesota Monthly Fine Spirits Classic. Come celebrate Repeal Day in regal style.
The evening is geared toward anyone interested in creating their own craft cocktails at home. On hand will be several representatives from area distilleries, some master distillers themselves, as well as skilled local bartenders. Also on hand will be Nick Kosevich and Ira Koplowitz, owners and creators of Bittercube, the locally owned bitters company that is taking refined cocktail bars by storm.
Guests will be able to sample spirits from 45th Parallel (including their pristine vodka and Border Bourbon), Bailey's, Bombay Sapphire, Gamle Olde Aquavit, High West distillery, Phillips Wine and Spirits -- makers of that new Sriracha vodka everybody is talking about
-- and many more.
Attendees will receive samples of classic cocktails as well as food from Ruth's Chris Steak House. Tickets are $45 in advance or $55 at the door. Designated drivers can come watch the revelry for just $10. Attendees must be at least 21 years of age. The party goes from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mill City Nights.

Jamaican #1 bitters cocktail recipe:
1.5 oz Plantation 3 star Rum
.5 oz Cruzan Black Strap Rum
.75 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
.75 oz simple syrup
1 eye dropper of Jamaican #1
Shake, double strain, enjoy thoroughly.
