Maybe because it oozes an air of posh exclusivity, or maybe it's the many alcoves and shadowy corners for discreet dining, but Cafe Lurcat has been the restaurant of choice for two of the biggest names in music this past month.
Both Mick Jagger and Prince dined at the upscale Loring Park eatery in the past three weeks, and because there is no privacy when you're that famous, here's what they each ordered, in detail. We didn't miss a bite:
Mick Jagger dined at the cafe on the Monday prior to his Rolling Stones concert at TCF Bank Stadium. His table ordered the Chilean sea bass marinated in miso, fries with béarnaise, crispy ahi and basil spring rolls, roasted beet and arugula salad, seared ahi with lemon confit, zucchini with dill butter, and sautéed jumbo asparagus.
Not surprisingly, Prince has a bit of a lighter appetite, and when he dined there on Monday, May 11, his table ordered house-made udon with Chinese barbecue chicken and dark chocolate profiteroles with salted caramel ice cream and spiced candied pecans. No doubt Prince forwent the poultry; he's a known vegetarian, but also a sweet tooth so the dessert was probably his. How else can he keep those sweet pipes?
The only musician left to complete this superstar trilogy would be Madonna, but she's not here 'til the fall. Maybe book your reservation now if you want to spot her? Or just go anyway. Lurcat's clearly got something going on to lure these two arbiters of worldwide good taste.
