The buttery round buttons that are Thumbs Cookies proffer flavor bombs that belie their diminutive stature. No bigger than a gumball, each one is rolled by hand, to the tune of 5,000 per week to keep up with demand.
It’s a family recipe that baker Robyn Frank has taken and perfected. She infuses each cookie with flavors like double chocolate, rosemary pecan, ginger clove, peanut butter sea salt, apricot pistachio cardamom, and hot toddy.
Each one is an excuse to reach for another, and see how it’s possible that so many distinctions can arrive in such a homogenous little bead.
So much for bite-sized. You wind up eating them by the dozen.
