Channel your inner pirate: Eat bourbon for dinner

As a countdown to the Best of the Twin Cities 2016, coming April 20, we're serving up 100 of our favorite local dishes. Here are the best dishes, drinks, snacks, and sweet treats we encountered over the last year.

Are you a drunken pirate? Do you have an eye patch and a parrot that sits on your shoulder and demands you commit debauchery? No? Now you are and now you do. Channel your inner pirate by ordering an appetizer of bourbon and bacon at 6Smith.

It makes about as much sense for an appetizer as a cigarette and an ice cream cone, but so what? Life is for living. For $13, you can get you a captain's share of housemade Tellicherry pepper bacon and a "side" of bourbon. They'll tell you that you ought to "dip" the bacon into the bourbon, but how are you going to look doing some such nonsense? Just eat the pile of bacon and shoot down the bourbon, and maintain your dignity.
