No. 92: Kafe 421 "signature dips"
Don't let a little indecision get you down. That's what Kafé 421's "signature dips" seem to coo in your hesitant ear. Here is one of those rare occasions when a crippling inability to lay down the law actually serves you, and serves you well. While the restaurant permits you to get any of the dips individually or with one another, there's no question you must get all four. The superfecta includes tapenade, hummus, roasted eggplant, and tzatziki, and comes surrounded by a star-shaped arrangement of soft, toothsome pita. The eggplant is assertive and lemony, the black olive tapenade salty and rich. These bold flavors are balanced by the creamy, garlicky hummus and the mild yogurt-based tzatziki dip. Embrace your indecision!
