Fans camp out at Chick-fil-A for grand openings in Maple Grove, Coon Rapids
Chick-fil-A fans forsook the comfort of their warm beds last night and camped out in front of two brand new Chick-fil-A locations in Maple Grove and Coon Rapids. These bleary-eyed chicken fans were hoping to be among the first 100 customers in line when the stores opened up at 6 a.m. this morning, and in turn, receive a year of free, weekly chicken sandwich meals.

Until this morning, the Twin Cities were home to only two Chick-fil-A locations: One in the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and one on the University of Minnesota campus.
While residents of Maple Grove and Coon Rapids rejoice in the convenience of these two new locations, the "First 100" events themselves are apparently a much bigger thing within the Chick-fil-A community. In fact, according to a Fox 9 News report, some of the campers who wound up in Maple Grove weren't locals at all, but a group of chicken pilgrims.
Minnesotans didn't comprise the entire Maple Grove crowd. Allen Kline from St. Joseph, Mo. made his way north and celebrated his 11th time being first in line at a Chick-fil-A grand opening ceremony.
