One of the few truly decent restaurants east of Hennepin Avenue in downtown is Eastside. Now the owners are ready to expand their offerings.
On June 6 the restaurant will begin lunch service, introducing a menu in keeping with its new American culinary style.
Highlights from the menu include ahi tuna tartare for two, a walleye "filet o fish" sandwich with American cheese and shredded iceberg (the way it oughta be), and a house bacon grilled cheese with chilled green tomato soup. There are also powdered beignets and house-made cookies, available to go if you're on the run. A busy workday shouldn't stand between you and your sweet treats.
Eastside, which opened last September, also has a new chef. Nick Dugan is a New York native who has spent time in some big time kitchens including the Four Seasons.
Lunch service begins June 6, and runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
