Though recent plans for a new multi-use six-story building proposed for Dinkytown have been met with pushback from longtime residents, the soon-to-return student population is still very much in need of some new, more diverse dining options. Thankfully, a locally-based company with a customizable concept has moved in and is opening its doors today, satisfying both hungry students and small business owners that are hoping to maintain the spirit of the neighborhood.
One, Two, Three Sushi has already found massive success in their IDS Center and at the soon-to-open Retek Building skyway locations, but they're shifting a few things at this new location (right across the street from Annie's Parlour and the Kitty Cat Klub) to better serve their Dinkytown audience.
General manager and chef Jeremy Beck has expanded the menu a bit to include a new line of nigiri and more hot rice and ramen bowls. The made-to-order customizable sushi roll concept will remain the same as in their other locations, but with a handful of new options: tamago (egg omelet), poached shrimp, chicken teriyaki, beef tataki, shitake mushrooms, now-ubiquitous kimchi, and pickled daikon radish. Another happy addition? This location will also serve beer and sake.
More budget-friendly than most other sushi restaurants, almost everything on the menu rings in under $10 but they will offer some additional special discounts with student ID.
The restaurant will be open for both lunch and dinner, seven days a week with late night hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For more information on the hours and new location, check out their website.
