Dining Out For Life a big 'ol success

Dining Out For Life is one of the easiest, most effortless ways to contribute to a worthwhile cause, so it should come as no surprise that last week's event was (yet again) a hit. A friend who hit up Blackbird said that some patrons willingly waited hours for a seat at the cute South Minneapolis cafe. Grand Cafe did a brisk business too (as evidenced by the complete and utter lack of parking in my neighborhood that night).

Proceeds from Dining Out For Life will benefit HIV/AIDS services organization The Aliveness Project. Executive Director Joe Larson says he won't have final numbers for a couple weeks, but has already counted up more than $30,000 in in-kind donations people made at restaurants as additional contributions to the cause. That's already more than last year's in-kind donations he says, and they're not finished counting yet. Great job eating, everyone.

Where'd any of y'all go btw? Was it jammy?
