D'Amico boots Chambers Kitchen

itemprop

It's true: D'Amico & Partners just announced they will take over the food and beverage management of the Chambers hotel, starting July 20. The Jean-Georges restaurant Chambers Kitchen will be replaced by a new concept by D'Amico &Partners, which just closed its flagship Cucina last weekend.

I think that Chambers owner Ralph Burnet's decision to bring a JG restaurant to Minneapolis did draw national attention to the quality of our dining scene, but I'm not sure it made much of an impact on local diners or chefs. In some respects, chosing an outsider to run the high-profile restaurant seemed a bit of a slight to homegrown talent, so I'm glad to see D'Amico get a chance to prove that it can provide a dining experience on par with that designed by a global cheflebrity.
