A whimsical treat for any occasion
Sometimes we feel inspired to make a gesture--a little something to say thank you or good job, or add a touch of brightness to the day. At such times, options are limited. You can swing by Super America for a box of doughnuts, grab a dozen bagels from Bruegger's, or spend a night slaving away in the kitchen over a homemade delicacy. Or you can head to Cupcake and pick up a dozen whimsical, artful, delicious baubles sure to brighten even the dullest work meeting or overtime shift.
Mad Calf, Paris Hilton, and Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcakes
The best thing about Cupcake's cupcakes is the variety, both of flavors and sizes. Their brochure boasts pictures and descriptions of 60 different cupcakes with creative names and endearing designs, ranging from the Claire Huxtable ("chocolate cupcake dipped in chocolate ganache and decorated with sprinkles") to the Toad Stool ("vanilla cupcake with red frosting with white fondant spots--very Alice in Wonderland"). Seventeen of the cupcakes are available in miniature size--perfect for the thrifty or those counting their Weight Watchers points.

The cupcakes are soft, supple, and perfectly sweet without being cloying. The tufts of frosting are buttery, creamy, and generous, and the adorable designs are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the mouth.
The cupcakes are baked fresh daily, but you never know on any given day what flavors you'll have to choose from, as the bakers whip up a different assortment each day. Call in advance if you know you want a specific flavor. Otherwise, enjoy the adventure of picking out a new random sampling on each visit. Assorted dozens are $15 for the minis and $30 for regular size.
