Monday 11/8

Throw that wascally wabbit in the soup pot! Learn how to cook rabbit and other French-inspired dishes at Cooks of Crocus Hill in St. Paul. It may taste like chicken, but it's sure to impress at your next dinner date. $65. 6 to 9 p.m.

Finish up your shopping and head to Piedmont, Italy, at Crave in the Mall of America. Sommelier Tim Edmunds will showcase wines from that area and offer tastings and tasty tidbits. $45. 6:30 p.m.

It's all natural all the time at the Wargo Nature Center in Lino Lakes. Visit the center and learn how to create a holiday feast using natural ingredients. Get there early and work up an appetite hiking on the area's many trails. $20. 6 p.m.

Better zip to it--Zipp's Liquors presents its annual Beer Tasting Extravaganza to benefit the Cedar Cultural Center. Gather at the center for a night of beer, snacks from Seward Coop, and auction items. Tickets are $20 and are available online or in-store at Zipp's. 6:30 p.m.

You're about due for a movie and a tasting. Metromix Twin Cities and Theatres at Mall of America team up for another session of Cinema Series, a new, monthly series that rolls a movie, a wine and beer tasting, and a film discussion into one tight, little package for $20/person or $30/two people. Tonight's movie is Due Date starring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis. Let the hilarity and drinking ensue!

The Curry Diva, Heather Janz, strikes again, preparing a seven-course Indonesian feast at the Edina Grill. Start your meal with hrupuhs, a mixture of cassava, tapioca, rice, and lentil chips; then move onto the main courses: rendang (slow cooked) lamb, ayam masah bugis (coconut chicken), sambal traci (chili) prawns, gadd-gadd (blanched beans, cabbage and bean sprouts) and nashi kuning (yellow rice) accompanied by Indonesian sambals (varying chili-based sauces). $55. 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Thursday 11/11

If you want it done fish-less and dairy-free, do it yourself. Learn how to roll your own vegetarian sushi at the Wedge with Mike Stickel who will teach you how to make sushi rice, finger sushi, and various sushi rolls, balls, and pockets with vegetables and fruit. Saturday 11/13

Learn the truth about tea at TeaSource Minneapolis. Talk about antioxidants, catechins, polyphenois, caffeine, and how to get the most health benefits from tea. Samples will be provided. $15. 9 to 11 a.m.

Sunday 11/14

Hey you--cake eater--watch the pros at work at the Mall of America Best Buy Rotunda. Watch six cake specialists and teams create and decorate cakes and cupcakes. Children can decorate their own cupcakes (and then run screaming through the stores on a sugar binge). 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you want to have your cake and eat it too, those soon-to-be-betrothed should head to the Varsity Theater for the Independent Wedding Fair a collection of vendors who operate outside The Wedding Industrial Complex. Attend the fair's "not so real" mock wedding and sample seasonally inspired snacks from Chowgirls, plus sweets from Jessica's Cakes, Sweets Bakeshop, Cake Diva, and Cocoa & Fig. $10-$15. 12 to 4 p.m.
