Common Roots, Birchwood, etc. offer free breakfast for bikers/walkers


Common Roots is celebrating Bike/Walk to Work Week tomorrow by handing out a free cup of coffee and bagel with cream cheese to anyone who's biking or walking to work between 7 and 9 a,m. In fact, a whole slew of restaurants are offering similar freebies to encourage non-petrol commuting. We've listed a few more below, but you can find a complete interactive map by clicking here.

Birchwood Cafe Time: 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. Free Peace Coffee and fresh baked muffins and scones to everyone who bikes and walks to work. Helmet required.

Bedlam Theater Time: 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. & 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Free mini breakfast buffet. Peace Coffee and hot breakfast. $3 pints 4 p.m.- 7pm

Trotter's Cafe Time: 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. Free coffee and breakfast

**Note too that Nice Ride MN--which makes 1,000 bikes available for use across Minneapolis, including some right by Common Roots at 26th and Lyndale--kicks off tomorrow. The 26/Lyndale station is already set up and the bikes should arrive soon.
