Coming Soon: Patisserie 46


As Kingfield mourns Rustica's move from 46th/Bryant to Calhoun Commons, neighbors will be happy to know that a new bakery/cafe, Patisserie 46, is in the works just down the street at 46th and Grand--a recently revitalized restaurant corner that's now home to Café Ena and King's Wine Bar.

Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl talked to the owner, Chicago pastry chef John Kraus, about his plans, which include Alsatian tarte flambée, a sort of white pizza that's hard to come by in these parts (I've had excellent ones at Pardon My French, but one can't always be driving to Eagan...), plus sandwiches, breads, pastries, cookies, coffee, and more. Kraus is shooting for a March opening. Looking forward to it!
