Chocolate Celeste now open
Chocophiles were disappointed when Chocolate Celeste's University Avenue/280 shop closed last spring--but just last week, owner Mary Leonard reopened at 652 Transfer Ave. in St. Paul, a block off University, just East of 280.
Another potential space at Broadway and Stinson didn't work out because the building's owners were worried that that chocolate aroma would annoy the other tenants. "We knew that this was going to be trouble," Leonard posted on the Celeste FB page. "What kind of person would not like the sweet aroma of chocolate?"
Leonard specializes in truffles and bonbons made with local cream and butter and offers tons of beautiful embossed chocolates--including personalized ones with logos, initials, etc. if you're looking for edible party favors or gifts.
