Amid recent rumors that they might put down roots in the East Harriet neighborhood of Minneapolis, Carrie Summers and Lisa Carlson of Chef Shack announced they'll actually be going further east ... to Wisconsin.

The pair told the Star Tribune that a brick-and-mortar restaurant has always been part of their vision, but they won't be leaving their mobile kitchen behind. The brick-and-mortar restaurant will be open on weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) only, making for a perfect weekend drive destination for Twin Cities residents.

Here are more details on the location and menu:

Summer and Carlson have purchased a property in Bay City, Wisconsin, which used to be a restaurant called River Bay Cafe. The pair will close on the property on August 15 and will begin renovations in preparation for a fall opening.

The space, which seats 40 guests inside and 40 more on the patio, was already outfitted with a wood-burning pizza oven, so Chef Shack will likely be adding pizzas to their repertoire. Dinner will be served on Friday and Saturday evenings, but Carlson and Summer say that Sunday brunch may be added in the future.

The small town of Bay City is near beautiful Lake Pepin, just south of Red Wing, and a little under a one-hour drive from Minneapolis.
