Cars R Coffins pedals to the hereafter this Friday

The city tore up CRC's sidewalk--but still charged them for a Sidewalk Cafe License?

The local cycling community is losing one of its favorite caffeinated pit stops this Friday, when the Cars R Coffins coffee shop at 34th and Lyndale Ave. S. has its last day of service.

Read the heartfelt message that CRC owner Tommy "Hurl" Everson left for loyal patrons on the shop's Facebook page and pay a visit this week. And if you're missing the shop after this weekend, we have a few other recommendations for equally cyclist-friendly alternatives.

I'd like to announce that the CRC Coffee Bar will be closing its doors for the last time on Friday, March 25, 2011. Many factors lead to this decision, and now it is time for the next adventure in my life. I'd like to thank all of the remarkable friends & customers of CRC--many who've become friends--for your generous support & encouragement throughout the past 5 years. Rest assured that Cars-R-Coffins as a brand is not going anywhere, and will continue to support the local cycling scene. I also encourage all of you to continue to "support your local independent anything" & especially all of our friends on 34th & Lyndale. I'll see you on two wheels.

xo,

Fortunately, Cars R Coffins badass branded merch will live on, and caffeine-seeking bikers can still hit up several other two-wheelers' favorites, including the One on One coffee shop, the Birchwood Cafe, and Angry Catfish. And, if you wait a bit, you can return to the CRC space when Bull Run opens in its place in early April!
