Butch Bakery cupcakes targeted exclusively at men

We feel tougher just looking at Butch Bakery's "B-52," a Kahlua-soaked Madagascar cake with a Bailey's Bavarian filling.

Dude. A new NYC bakery is targeting its sole product at men. Butch Bakery's cupcakes ... er, mancakes ... come decorated with "masculine" designs like camouflage, houndstooth, and woodgrain (!) and in flavors like "Jackhammer" and "Beer Run." According to the bakery's site:

Our objective is simple. We're men. Men who like cupcakes. Not the frilly pink-frosted sprinkles-and-unicorns kind of cupcakes. We make manly cupcakes. For manly men.

Early front runners look to be the "Home Run," a peanut butter/banana/bacon combo described as "more fun than getting to third base," and the salted caramel/vanilla buttercream "Tailgate."

The site says the bakery was launched by a former asset backed securities lawyer (hmm, wonder where that job went?) who wanted a unique, masculine product that veered sharply from the golf tees and baseballs featured on many male-themed baked goods.

Right now, the bakery offers delivery service only throughout Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn but the site says it aims to have a storefront sometime this spring and the capability to deliver to the rest of the country later this year.
